On Wednesday 27th May we had our final demonstration of the season. Club Chairman Moira Davidson welcomed Regina O'Regan from Kinross, with "Celebrations".
Regina kept us all laughing with her funny stories while creating beautiful floral arrangements for all occasions, from packing for a holiday, to attending The Garden Party.
A very well deserved vote of thanks was given by Liz Gregg, after which the raffle was drawn. Followed by a welcome cup of tea and some lovely home baking. Some delighted ladies went home with gorgeous arrangements won in the raffle.
Our next meeting is our annual Coffee Evening on Wednesday 27th June at 7.pm in Carrick Buildings, Henrietta Street, musical entertainment will be provided by John Jennifer Stewart. We look forward to welcoming you then.
Wednesday 22nd April, Chairman Moira Davidson welcomed Olivia-Ann Lee from "Bespoke Blooms Dailly" as our demonstrator for the evening. Olivia kept us entertained with lots of fun and laughter while she worked making up her beautiful spring arrangements. A hearty vote of thanks was given by Janice McGeechan, the raffle was then drawn followed by a welcome cup of tea and delicious home baking provided by committee member Liz Gillon. After which several very happy ladies went home with their gorgeous arrangements, won in the raffle.
It was really good turnout on Wednesday and we hope to welcome everyone back for our next demonstration on Wednesday 27th May when we will welcome, Regina O'Regan from Kinross with "Celebrations". Everyone Welcome.
Last night, Chairman Moira Davidson welcomed everyone to our March Meeting, which took the form of a Daisy Drive. Moira welcomed everyone, and after reading out a few items of business, she then announced that with 23/25 correct, Liz Gregg was the winner of the Flower Quiz, well done Liz. The quiz raised just over £100 for club funds. Thank you to everyone who took part.
The Daisy Drive then commenced with lots of laughter and excitement, plus a few groans when the dice wouldn’t fall right. After ten competitive games the scores were counted. Jeanette Bouns was the outright winner, with Grace Dunlop being runner up, well done to both ladies. Bringing up the rear was Margaret Findlay winning the booby prize, a beautifully decorated Wooden Spoon ( which looks lovely hanging on my Kitchen wall) the raffle was then drawn followed by a welcome cup of tea/coffee and some lovely home baking, provided by Liz Gillon. Everyone agreed that it had been a great night of fun and laughter.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 22nd April at 7pm. Demonstrator for the Evening will be Mrs Olivia Lee from “Olivia’s Bespoke Blooms”. Everyone welcome.
Last night, Wednesday 28th January, Club Chairman Moira Davidson welcomed our demonstrator for the evening, Mrs Jo Bogan from Cuper. The title for Jo's demonstration was "The Fife Pilgrim Way". Along with beautiful flowers depicting different parts of Fife Pilgrims Way, Jo entertained with stories of her pilgrim walks, not only n Fife but also in Italy and Spain.
Committee member Helen Walker gave a well deserved vote of thanks for the lovely arrangements and very informative evening. The raffle was then drawn followed by a welcome cup of tea. The selection of photos shown here are "The Three Bridges" "Fifes Industrial Past" and "A Pilgrims Prayer.
Our next meeting is Wednesday 25th February when we will welcome Mr Roddy Leitch with his film show "Out and About". We look forward to seeing you all then.
Last night the Club Chairman, Moira Davidson welcomed our demonstrator for the evening Mr Steve Ludlum from Broughty Ferry. Steve’s title for the demonstration was
"From me to You at Christmas".
Steve entertained us with gorgeous flowers and foliage and inspirational ideas for containers - bought at bargain prices - to complete his beautiful arrangements. Janice McGeechan gave a well deserved vote of thanks after which the raffle was drawn, followed by a vist to the school dining room where everyone enjoyed drinks, shortbread, mince pies and Christmas tray bake, provided by the committee.
Our next meeting will be held in Carrick Opportunities Building, Henrietta Street, Girvan at 7pm on Wednesday 28th January 2026. The demonstrator will be
Jo Boggan from Cupar with “The Fife Pilgrim Way”.
The Club would like to thank everyone for their support and wish all members and friends a happy Christmas and a good New Year.
The members and friends were treated to exceptional "Seasonal Splendours" with Kathleen Doggett. All the various Autumn colours we are seeing around us just now all appeared in Kates wonderful arrangements. Kate gave us some hints on how to glycerine and dry leaves and branches which featured in some of her arrangements. All the arrangements were in containers which fully complemented the colours of the plant material. After the demonstration the raffle was drawn and 6 arrangements were off to their new homes, happy ladies all round! Tea and cakes finished off the evening.
Our next night is our Christmas event. Wednesday 19th November in Girvan Academy theatre at 7pm sees Steve Ludlum from Broughty Ferry demonstrating "From me to you at Christmas" tickets are £10 and includes refreshments which are available from The Pet Store in Girvan or by phoning the secretary on 01465 712445. All welcome.
Our new season began with a demonstration from Karelia Scott Daniels from Largs. Her title was "Flowers from the Opera" and it was clear that Karelia had a lifelong love of Operas. Each of her arrangements depicted one of her favourite Operas some we had heard of and some not so well known. Each arrangement was accompanied by a small clip of music from each of the Operas despite a few technical issues! Karelia also told us of her extensive travels around the world.
Members were fore warned that the Christmas demonstration would have a change of date this year- in Girvan Academy theatre on Wednesday 19th Nov. Tickets will be available on our October evening and after that from Girvan Pet Store Dalrymple Street.
On our next night we will have Kathleen Dogget from Mussleburgh whose title will be Seasonal Splendour. Wednesday 23rd Oct in Carrick Buildings, Girvan at 7pm. All welcome.
Our final night of the year was a coffee and entertainment evening with the Maybole Concert Party who gave us a great programme of singing, dancing and some joke telling. A well attended night was rounded off with a delicious supper and a great raffle.
Our new season starts on Wed 24th September in the Carrick Buildings. Look forward to seeing you all then. All welcome.
The club AGM was held before our final demonstration for this session. Moira, club chair gave her annual report followed by a favourable treasurers report. She went on to thank Edna as secretary for all her work and thanks also went to the rest of the committee for their help throughout the year.
Our demonstrator for the evening was Karen from Flowers by Karen Kilmarnock who gave a a very inspiring demonstration showing us how to "think outside the box" a little. We had 5 wonderful arrangements using wonderful plant material and flowers which were all raffled at the end of the evening with 6 ladies going home very happy.
Our final night 25th June is a coffee evening with entertainment from the Maybole concert party. Tickets are £5 and available from Girvan Pet Store. Another good evening is in store for you all.
The evening ended with a welcome cup of tea and of course cakes!
Our April meeting was a Spring basket practical night. 24 members attended and everyone produced a beautiful arrangement and each one different. These nights are always a good mix of chat and arranging at the same time and enjoyed by all.
The club held their first meeting of 2025 in Carrick Buildings. Some of our own members did a couple of demonstrations and some members made arrangements especially for the night. Some of the arrangements were themed as follows, "Songs of Rabbie Burns", "Springtime" and "Puppy in a basket".
A very pleasant night was enjoyed by all, followed by the raffle and a welcome cuppa and cake!.
Our next meeting will be in the same venue on Wednesday 26th February which will be a Daisy Drive.
